Prime Video’s Boys of Tommen series has filled two more fan-watch roles: Jamie Schneider will play Patrick Feely and James Craven will play Pierce O’Neill, Variety reported.

The casting update adds to the growing ensemble for the screen version of Chloe Walsh’s bestselling YA book series, which is currently in production.

Variety also reported three new additions on the grown-up side of the story. Eoin Macken has been cast as Teddy Lynch, Róisín Gallagher will play Marie Lynch and Amy Huberman will appear as Edel Kavanagh.

An Irish school romance heads to Prime Video

Boys of Tommen centers on Johnny Kavanagh and Shannon Lynch, two teenagers at an Irish private school whose relationship cuts across social lines. Johnny is a standout rugby player preparing to go professional, while Shannon is the reserved new student.

According to the official synopsis cited by Variety, both characters are carrying private troubles. Johnny is dealing with an injury that could threaten his career, while Shannon is living through a troubled and violent home life.

The series follows their secret connection as they try to help each other through those pressures, Variety reported.

Conor Sánchez is set to play Johnny, with Nancy Surridge starring as Shannon.

The ensemble keeps growing

The wider cast includes James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Amelia May as Claire Biggs and John Hewson as Gerard Gibson.

Also on the roster are Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot, Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan and Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry, according to Variety.

The show is set in Ballylaggin and is being directed by Brendan Canty, whose credits include Christy.

Poppy Cogan, known for A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, adapted the series for television. The Prime Video project draws from the first two books in Walsh’s series, Binding 13 and Keeping 13. Carla Stronge is handling casting.

Who is making the series

Boys of Tommen is produced by Wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios, Variety reported. Metropolitan is providing local production services.

Cogan executive produces alongside Walsh, Wiip’s Paul Lee, Hope Hartman and Sean Flanagan, Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman and Annika Patton, and Drama Republic’s Greg Brenman and Deena Butt. Ingrid Goodwin serves as series producer.

The adaptation joins Prime Video’s expanding run of romance projects. Variety noted that the streamer’s slate also includes Off Campus and Every Year After.
