A woman accused of stalking Shia LaBeouf told police she believed the actor was a clone and feared he was being sex trafficked, TMZ reported, citing sources familiar with the case.

Alyssa Couture was arrested July 13 in New Orleans after she allegedly followed LaBeouf to a bank parking lot while he was with his girlfriend, according to TMZ. She was later charged with misdemeanor stalking, the outlet reported.

TMZ reported that Couture stayed across the street from the bank while LaBeouf was inside. A source told the outlet she was seen pacing around her car and claimed she was trying to close a “demon portal.”

Police arrested Couture after speaking with her, according to TMZ. During questioning, she allegedly told officers that the public figure known as Shia LaBeouf was a clone containing both LaBeouf’s DNA and her own DNA, the outlet reported.

Couture also allegedly claimed the clone had been created in a secret laboratory, according to TMZ’s account of what sources said she told police.

The July 13 arrest was not the first time authorities had encountered Couture, TMZ reported. The outlet said police first dealt with her on June 30 after she traveled from New Hampshire to New Orleans.

During that earlier interaction, Couture allegedly told officers she believed she was married to LaBeouf, according to TMZ.

TMZ reported that on July 9, Couture went to the home of LaBeouf’s father. There, she allegedly accused him of hiding the actor’s “real body” and repeated her claim that the celebrity version of LaBeouf was a clone rather than the real person, according to the outlet.

Couture also allegedly said she had gone to LaBeouf’s California home because multiple women were performing sex acts on the clone, which she claimed had angered the real LaBeouf, TMZ reported.

According to TMZ, Couture told police she believed the clone was being sex trafficked. She also allegedly claimed that posts on LaBeouf’s father’s social media were communicating with her through artificial intelligence.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office was identified by TMZ as the agency connected to Couture’s booking image. The outlet did not report any public comment from Couture in response to the stalking charge.

LaBeouf has not been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Couture’s allegations. TMZ reported the claims as statements Couture allegedly made to police after the New Orleans bank incident.
