The Write Path webinar is coming back for a second year, with ATX TV, The Black List, Sundance Institute’s Episodic Program and SeriesFest teaming again on a free session for emerging television writers, Deadline reported.
The one-hour event, officially titled The Write Path: Navigating Opportunities for Emerging TV Writers, is set for Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. PT and 3 p.m. CT on Zoom, according to Deadline.
The session will focus on the practical stuff writers hunt for before hitting submit: what each program offers, who is eligible, when applications are due and how to make an application stand out, Deadline reported. Attendees will also be able to ask questions during the webinar.
What is The Write Path webinar?
The Write Path is a free online seminar for emerging TV writers, built around advice from organizations that run writing-related programs and opportunities. According to Deadline, this year’s event is the second annual edition and is designed to help writers figure out which opportunities fit their work and how to strengthen submissions.
The webinar is aimed at writers at more than one stage of the process, Deadline reported. That includes people developing a first pilot as well as writers working to sharpen an existing creative voice.
Panelists listed for the session include Emily Gipson of ATX TV Festival and Rika Dharmesh Bhakta, identified by Deadline as a development executive, producer and ATX TV Pitch mentor.
The Black List will be represented by Megan Halpern and Claire Austin-Kulat, according to Deadline. SeriesFest panelists will be Randi Kleiner and Claire Taylor-Smith, while Jandiz Estrada Cardoso will appear for Sundance Institute.
Deadline’s Katie Campione is scheduled to moderate the conversation.

Those groups are joining forces again after hosting the seminar in its first year, Deadline reported. The focus remains squarely on emerging television writers facing a competitive field for programs, fellowships and other career-building opportunities.
Deadline said participants should come away with guidance on choosing the right opportunities, improving their application materials and taking another step in their writing careers.
