CBS Sports board swings from MLB blowouts to Skubal trade buzz
CBS Sports’ Tuesday slate spotlighted a packed MLB scoreboard, WNBA finishes, NFL rookie receiver rankings and fresh trade-deadline chatter.

CBS Sports’ Tuesday hub was stacked with baseball, and the biggest number on the board came in Cleveland, where the Guardians beat the Twins 13-4, according to the site’s MLB scoreboard.
The Yankees also handled the Pirates 8-5, while the Phillies topped the Dodgers 10-7 in another high-scoring finish listed by CBS Sports. Seattle had one of the cleanest wins of the night, beating Cincinnati 8-0.
MLB scores fill the slate
CBS Sports listed 15 completed MLB games from July 20, with Detroit’s 8-6 win over the Cubs marked as a 10-inning final. Boston edged Baltimore 6-5, Kansas City beat San Francisco 4-3 and Atlanta slipped past San Diego 3-2.
The scoreboard also had Tampa Bay over Toronto 7-1, Milwaukee over the Mets 8-3, Houston over Miami 8-5 and Washington over Colorado 7-3. The Athletics beat Arizona 5-2, the Angels beat St. Louis 3-2 and the White Sox beat Texas 10-3.
Alongside the scores, CBS Sports promoted a run of MLB highlight videos, including Cardinals-Angels, Pirates-Yankees, Twins-Guardians, Orioles-Red Sox, Tigers-Cubs and Dodgers-Phillies.
Skubal speculation and deadline chatter
Baseball’s trade deadline was also on the front page. CBS Sports featured an MLB piece on eight possible deadline destinations for Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal.
Another MLB item teased trade-deadline rumblings involving Atlanta’s search for starting pitching and interest in Athletics outfielders, according to CBS Sports. The site also promoted an analysis sorting teams into deadline buyers, sellers and clubs in between.
CBS Sports’ MLB power rankings focused on the American League East race and a surprise contender getting back on track, according to the headline displayed on the site.
NFL, NBA and World Cup stories get billing
The lead NFL feature focused on rookie wide receivers. CBS Sports said five first-round receivers are entering the league and ranked 10 first-year pass catchers by their chances to make an early impact.
Soccer got a long-range look, with CBS Sports promoting early 2030 World Cup power rankings. The site also highlighted its 2026 World Cup section in the main navigation.
On the NBA side, CBS Sports featured All-Summer League teams built around 10 players who stood out in Las Vegas. The site also promoted Eastern Conference offseason grades and an item in which Pat Riley said the Heat could have become a dynasty if LeBron James had stayed in Miami.
WNBA finishes round it out
CBS Sports’ video rail included four WNBA finals. The Liberty beat the Wings 99-98 in overtime, the Lynx beat the Storm 105-102, the Mystics defeated the Valkyries 90-82 and the Aces beat the Tempo 109-83, according to the listed results.
Golf also appeared in the video mix, with CBS Sports offering final-round highlights from the 154th Open Championship.
