Liverpool’s hunt for a new wide man has landed on one of Paris Saint-Germain’s flashiest names, with The Sun reporting that the Premier League club are currently ahead in the chase for Bradley Barcola.
ESPN’s transfer roundup said Liverpool have still not replaced Mohamed Salah after his summer exit and are looking for an experienced winger. According to The Sun, Barcola sits high on their list, while PSG view the France international as a player worth around £100 million.
The chase is not Liverpool’s alone. The Sun also reported that Arsenal and Bayern Munich are interested in Barcola. Arsenal’s need for attacking options has sharpened after they missed out on Morgan Rogers, according to the same report.
Arsenal keep an eye on Diomande
Arsenal are also looking elsewhere. TalkSPORT reported that the club have asked about RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, a 19-year-old Ivory Coast international who is also being linked with PSG.
TalkSPORT said Diomande would prefer a move to France, while Leipzig are still hoping to keep him for another season. His current deal with the Bundesliga club runs until June 2030.
That makes the situation tricky for Arsenal, who have not dropped the idea of signing him, according to TalkSPORT. PSG’s interest remains a major factor, with the French club described in the report as European champions.
Chelsea push for Lacroix
Chelsea and Crystal Palace are still talking over a deal for defender Maxence Lacroix, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romano reported that Chelsea believe an agreement can be reached and that both Premier League clubs are open to finding a solution. Lacroix is said to be keen on the move after making his World Cup debut for France, where he appeared in three of the team’s eight matches.
The talks give Chelsea another defensive storyline in a window already packed with movement, but Romano’s report did not say that a final agreement has been struck.
Liverpool also check on Akliouche
Liverpool have made an opening approach for Monaco attacker Maghnes Akliouche, Sky Sports News reported.
Akliouche, 24, was with France at the World Cup, and Sky Sports News said his club future is now expected to be settled after the tournament’s end. PSG have already had multiple bids rejected by Monaco, according to the report, which may give Liverpool room to test the situation.
Sky Sports News said Liverpool have checked on Akliouche’s availability, adding another French-based attacker to their list as the club reshapes its forward line.
Dortmund raise Karetsas bid
Borussia Dortmund have improved their offer for Genk prospect Konstantinos Karetsas, Sky Germany reported.
The new proposal is worth just over €30 million including possible add-ons, according to Sky Germany, though the clubs have not yet reached an agreement. Dortmund remain confident about signing the 18-year-old, with talks described as moving in a positive direction.
Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror reported that Manchester United and Arsenal are still battling for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott after Chelsea had a bid rejected, with Newcastle United, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur also interested. The Athletic reported that Fulham are in talks for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo García, who has previously worked with new Fulham manager Álvaro Arbeloa.
