Spain enter Sunday’s 2026 World Cup final as the betting favorite against Argentina, with FanDuel listing La Roja at +130 on the 90-minute money line, according to CBS Sports.

The final is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, are chasing a second straight World Cup championship and a fourth title overall. Spain, featuring Lamine Yamal, are trying to win the tournament for the second time after their 2010 triumph.

FanDuel’s latest 90-minute market, as reported by CBS Sports, has Argentina at +255 and the draw at +195. Spain are also priced at -160 to lift the trophy, while Argentina are +125 in that market. Messi has the shortest anytime scorer odds at +130.

Final brings history and a red-hot Spain run

Argentina are appearing in the World Cup final for the seventh time, CBS Sports reported, and for the third time in the past four editions of the tournament. Spain are in their second World Cup final and their first since winning the 2010 title.

The matchup is tight historically. CBS Sports said the teams have met 14 times before, with each side winning six and two matches ending in draws.

Spain’s form is the big number hanging over the final. CBS Sports reported that Spain are unbeaten in 37 matches. At this World Cup, Spain have outscored opponents 13-1, recording six clean sheets, six wins and one draw.

Since World Cup qualifying last September, Spain have 13 wins and four draws while conceding four goals, according to CBS Sports. Argentina’s tournament attack has also been productive, with a 19-7 scoring edge over opponents.

SportsLine expert leans under 2.5 goals

SportsLine analyst Martin Green has studied the matchup and is leaning under 2.5 total goals, CBS Sports reported. The price cited for that lean was -162, though the FanDuel widget shown by CBS Sports listed under 2.5 at -158. Betting odds are subject to change.

Green pointed to Argentina’s resilience and Messi’s threat while assessing the final. “You have to admire Argentina's never-say-die attitude,” Green said, according to CBS Sports. “They're also always in with a chance of winning any game when they have Messi in attack.”

CBS Sports described Green as a professional sports writer and handicapper who previously worked in the sports betting industry. The outlet said Green was profitable last year in multiple soccer markets, including Champions League picks at +211.25 and Bundesliga picks at +100.

In 2026, CBS Sports said Green is 18-8 over his past 26 Champions League picks, returning nearly $1,000 in profit. The outlet also said he is on a 20-9 run on World Cup selections, good for +904.

Green has also identified what CBS Sports called a key x-factor and two plus-money best bets for the final, with those selections available through SportsLine.
