Jude Bellingham delivered the closing punch for England, with Telemundo Deportes reporting that the midfielder broke clear to score his team’s sixth goal against France on July 18.
The strike sealed England’s win in the third-place match at the FIFA World Cup 2026, according to Telemundo Deportes, capping a bronze-medal game that began as an English romp and turned into a furious French fightback.
England flew out of the blocks
Telemundo Deportes’ match clips tracked England’s early surge goal by goal. Declan Rice put the Three Lions ahead 0-1, Ezri Konsa followed for 0-2, and Bukayo Saka then finished for 0-3.
Saka struck again to make it 0-4, with Telemundo describing the scoreline as a nightmare for France and Kylian Mbappé. Another Telemundo clip showed English fans in Miami turning the atmosphere into a party as the lead grew.
The buildup had framed the game as a chance for England to end its World Cup campaign with the bronze medal. Telemundo also billed the matchup as a shot at revenge after France eliminated England in Qatar.
France refused to vanish
France’s response ran through its biggest names, according to Telemundo’s coverage. Mbappé cut into the deficit with what Telemundo called a historic World Cup goal, then later produced the skill that set up Bradley Barcola for another French strike.
Telemundo also highlighted a Mbappé goal that gave France life against England, followed by Ousmane Dembélé’s goal to make it 4-5. The match had shifted from one-way traffic into a scoreboard chase.
England still found ways to answer. Telemundo featured Saka converting from the penalty spot, adding another key moment to a performance already marked by his earlier goals.
Then came Bellingham. Telemundo Deportes said the England midfielder and goal scorer escaped the defense and netted England’s sixth, putting the result beyond France and securing third place.
A bronze finish and a French farewell
The match also carried a sideline storyline. Telemundo described it as Didier Deschamps’ last game with Les Bleus and showed Deschamps and England manager Thomas Tuchel embracing before the France-England meeting.
Telemundo’s coverage said Tuchel had defended changes to England’s starting lineup before the match, calling them “sentido común,” or common sense. The reshuffled England side responded with goals from Rice, Konsa, Saka and Bellingham in a high-scoring finish to its tournament.
France had Mbappé, Barcola and Dembélé on the scoresheet in Telemundo’s clips, but England left Miami with the bronze medal after Bellingham’s final word.
