Kids’ headphones just got a grown-up feature list: iClever has launched the Q950 Kids Headphones in the U.S., with active noise cancellation, a built-in volume limit and a $69.99 price on Amazon.

The wireless over-ear headphones are also available through iClever, according to the company’s product details. The Q950 comes in two colors, blue and purple.

iClever says the headphones are designed for younger listeners, with its SafeSound technology keeping volume capped at 80 dBA. The company pairs that limit with hybrid active noise cancellation, a setup meant to make audio easier to hear without pushing the volume higher.

Safety pitch comes first

The Q950 has TÜV Rheinland Hearing Care certification, according to iClever. The certification is described by the company as third-party recognition of a design focused on safer listening and hearing comfort.

That hearing-health angle is the headline feature for parents looking at kids’ tech. The product is being sold as a child-focused pair of headphones rather than a smaller version of standard adult cans.

Noise cancellation is joined by Transparency Mode, which iClever says lets children hear their surroundings without removing the headphones. That could matter in cars, classrooms, airports or at home when someone is trying to get their attention.

Adult-style features in a kid package

The Q950 also includes Wear Detection. According to iClever, the headphones can automatically pause audio when they are taken off.

There is also Bluetooth Audio Sharing, which the company says allows two headphones to connect to the same device. That feature is aimed at shared listening, such as two kids watching or hearing the same thing from one phone, tablet or other device.

Battery life is listed at up to 60 hours on a single charge. iClever also says the active noise cancellation still works when the headphones are used with the included wired AUX connection.

The physical design includes an adjustable headband, soft ear cushions and rotating ear cups, according to the company. iClever says those features are intended to help the fit as children grow and to make the headphones suitable for regular use.

Price and availability

The iClever Q950 Kids Headphones are listed at $69.99 at Amazon. They are also available from iClever in the U.S.

For that price, the package combines the big-ticket features iClever is pushing hardest: hybrid ANC, an 80 dBA cap, TÜV Rheinland Hearing Care certification, Transparency Mode, Wear Detection, Bluetooth Audio Sharing and up to 60 hours of battery life.
