Alexander Skarsgård Wicker outfits have included see-through lace-up shoes, a shirt printed with Olivia Colman’s face and a multicolored skirt. The actor told Variety that comfort was part of the calculation as he promoted the fantasy romance.

At the film’s London premiere earlier in October, Skarsgård wore a metallic gold Saint Laurent suit with clear plastic lace-up shoes, Variety reported. He later discussed the footwear at the Academy Museum Gala.

“They were surprisingly comfortable,” Skarsgård told Variety. He said he had expected the shoes to steam up within five minutes, but said that did not happen.

The transparent footwear did give friends and family a view of his feet. Skarsgård said they had teased him about his toes showing through, adding that they made fun of his feet.

What did Alexander Skarsgård wear to the Wicker Los Angeles premiere?

For the Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday, Skarsgård wore a purple-and-green multicolored skirt and a black Chopova Lowena shirt featuring Colman’s face, according to Variety. Colman co-stars with Skarsgård in Wicker.

Skarsgård said the outfit marked the final major premiere before the film’s opening and that he wanted to wear something special for Colman, whom he said he adores.

He also gave the skirt a practical review. On a hot night, he said, it felt comfortable, light and breezy.

What is known about the gray wig?

Variety’s headline said a gray wig worn during the Wicker promotional run was inspired by Colman. The available report excerpt does not include Skarsgård’s explanation of that connection or further details about the wig.

A separate Facebook search result described Skarsgård attending an L.A. screening in a gray wig and short shorts, but it did not give a date or explain why he wore it. That result therefore does not independently establish the reported Colman inspiration.

For the looks documented in detail, Skarsgård’s account was straightforward: the clear shoes held up better than he expected, and the skirt suited the warm Los Angeles evening.
