Jaime Pressly praised her former Mom colleagues, calling them an “incredible cast of women” as Chuck Lorre’s memoir put fresh attention on his early doubts about casting Anna Faris in the CBS sitcom.

Pressly, who played Jill Kendall, told E! News that she joined the comedy in its second season and spent seven years working on it. Deadline reported her comments on October 17.

“I came on in the second season, but I had seven wonderful years of working with an incredible crew and an incredible cast of women,” Pressly said, according to Deadline. She said the women were “just as beautifully flawed as our characters on the show were.”

The actor also said she enjoyed going to work with “girlfriends every day,” adding that it was refreshing to work with women “of a certain age.”

What did Jaime Pressly say about her Mom co-stars?

Pressly described her years on Mom as a positive experience and praised both the crew and the female cast. Her remarks did not directly address each point Lorre made in his book or make a specific claim about Faris’s exit from the series.

The comments arrived after excerpts from Lorre’s memoir, Sitcom, drew attention for his account of initially questioning whether Faris was suited to the material. In the excerpt cited by Deadline, Lorre wrote that he was unsure Faris would be appropriate for that kind of role before recalling his troubled working relationship with Charlie Sheen.

Faris played Christy Plunkett, the lead character in Mom. Pressly’s character, recovering addict Jill Kendall, became part of the ensemble beginning with the show’s second season. The sitcom ran for eight seasons, according to Pressly’s account to E! News.

Pressly’s response focused on the workplace she remembered: seven years with a crew and cast she said she enjoyed seeing each day.
